50 Dead in Florida

Lone Gunman takes hostages and shoots up gay nightclub in Orlando in a standoff that lasted from 2 AM until 5 AM this morning after being enraged by the site of two men kissing. 50 people are dead with another 53 injured, some in critical condition and expected not to make it.

Event is currently being considered an act of terrorism by the FBI as the gunman was on a watch list.

I'm just being lazy. I'm sure I can wiki all this up. But anyway.

SO what happen. Anything big changed while I was gone. I think I left right before the re-ramp of everything in mabi. And other questions:

1. What are those tiny bags I see people have? I want ONE! How much are they now? Can I still afford one at a decent price?

2. What are current top end enchants for clothing sets? Armor sets? Any big changed with new added enchants? Can anyone also tell me what are some decent near end game enchants I can aim for? I sort of forgot everything.

3. Do enchanting/life skill still generate gold. It feels like the sever got saturated with enchant training potions/skill training potions/training seals and crap ton of materials life skills now...

More questions if I get any later on in the day...

What are the requirements for achieving the Grandmaster Warrior Title? Do I need to learn all of the warrior skills in order to achieve that or rank them all to 1? What about skills I really don't need like Doggleganger and Counterpunch? Do I need them? THANX

[NA Mabi] Mission Point Event

There's always so much to do across Erinn. Vicious monsters to defeat, grand battles to be won, epic pies to be baked... we're unleashing a new event to reward you for all the big and little things you do in the world of Mabinogi. Rebirthing, Completing Dungeons, upgrading weapons, just leveling up... there's plenty of missions to complete and a wealth of prizes for doing so. Check it all out below!

Event Dates:
Start: End of Maintenance, Thursday, Jun. 16
End: Start of Mantenance, Wednesday, Jul. 20



Event Details:
  • Open up the special Mission Point Event menu in bottom-left corner of the screen to see your assigned Missions for the Day, Week and Month
  • 10 Daily Missions will be assigned each day, and reward 30 Points each upon completion. Daily Missions that are not completed will expire and be replaced by new Daily Missions at the start of the next day at 7:00 AM PDT.
  • You can Reset 3 Daily Missions each day, negating any progress made and randomly selecting a new Daily Mission to undertake.
  • 7 Weekly Missions will be assigned each week, and reward 100 Points each upon completion. Weekly Missions reset at 7 AM PDT every Saturday.
  • 5 Monthly Missions will be assigned and reward 300 Points each upon completion. These missions will remain active until the end of the event.
  • Go to the Point Shop to spend the accumulated points on a wide variety of rewards!

  • 5,000 Points: Loose-fit Knitwear (F)
  • 5,000 Points: Syncretic Tattoo and Jeans (M)
  • 4,000 Points: Meryl Wig (M)

Other than concern over missions you literally can't do (like ranking up skills you're capped on), this looks interesting. Could probably prepare for this by taking certain steps like planting stuff on your homestead. I don't even have fields in mine right now, actually. That said, the strings in the screenshot don't exist in the client and the update files aren't up yet so we can't go dig up the list to prepare ahead of time.

Too bad this doesn't stop certain talents from being so grindy to rank up. Unless you can stack training from a hero+normal to get 4x talent training for herbalism, which would be nice.

NPCs have come to towns across Erinn, their packs full of all sorts of raw materials, ready to give everyone a boost to their crafting prowess. Even Fine materials can be obtained through these helpful little entrepreneurs, so get ready to put your life skills to the test!

Life Skills NPC Shop Event

Event Dates: Thursday, Jun. 16 - Tuesday, Aug. 9

Event Details:
  • New NPCs can be found near crafting locales across Erinn. Find them at Dunbarton's Upgrade Anvil, Bangor's Furnace, Emain Macha's Spring Wheel, Taillteann's Oven and Dugald Aisle Logging Camp
  • Each NPC sells basic Life Skill materials, with no limit on the number of Basic Materials that can be purchased
  • NPCs also sell Fine Material Boxes for 20,000 Gold, each containing a random Fine Material. Only a limited number of these boxes can be purchased per day.
  • Additional tools have been placed next to the new NPCs to make crafting a breeze!

Two of Mabinogi's most beloved experts have volunteered to help guide Milletians new and old through a brand new tutorial. Learn the basics of controls, get equipped for a leg-up as you start your adventures in Erinn and claim a pair of Tutorial-Exclusive prizes, including the Floofy Broom Whistle and Lorna's Stadium Horn!



Just create a new Mabinogi character to check out the new tutorial!




Each Rebirth brings a new decision, a question of what Talent you wish to undertake. Now you can try out every talent before picking one! Each Talent can be tried out as part of the revamped Tutorial, with each ability powered up to give you a full view of how powerful you will eventually become.




Ever been lost on a quest and needed just a bit of information? Are you a Mabinogi expert and want to lend a helping hand to your fellow Milletians? The Altruism Quest Board is a new resource to help players connect and share information. The more you help out, the higher your ranking! A high rank unlocks a special Journal entry and a unique effect on you characters.




The land of Erinn is a big place, and the minimap is your best tool for navigating it. We've made a few improvements to it, most notably a search function to let you find NPC's fast, no matter where you are. You can also mouse-over the "QUEST" icons in the minimap to see the quest name and adjust the opacity of the minimap. If you get lost with any of the Minimap's new features, just check in with the Help Window, updated with all of the information about our new features.

And Nexon cruelly implements events that are related to grinding dungeons and then events related to help you level up talents, nexon being sadist as always, devcat folloing close with that "Midsummer night dream" that gives clothes, title cupons and skill seals.

It's even worse for people (like me) that does the quests on (a lot of) multiple characters... farewell blacksmith/tailoring grind...

Leaving aside sad things like that... enjoy summer on mabi people, remember your freebies on the weekends.

This is late and I'm tired and there's way too much crap to try to sort (lots of new sources for items), so here's a short list of what I see that I'd consider interesting minus individual items which will probably get crapped out of gachas or they're already available or something.

- new_rabbie01 regions, succubus with buttefly wings or whatever textures, so yeah we got bits and pieces of that new dungeon thing.

- "nrd" dungeon with like, really fancy crystal and stone textures and junk. Is this from the above? This is really fancy stuff and it totally looks like another "Abyss" but it may be something else I'm not aware of. Graphics for the journal say Rabbie Phantasm, I guess that's translation consistency at least.

- dawndusk sword and junk to go along with it, etc.

- Also graphical bits for the dungeon update, but I'm too busy to dig into the databases to see if we got enough for it to function yet (so if we should expect it before next patch or not).

- Cookie dungeon, lots of big textures for the walls and floor and boss room and junk, probably an upcoming event. Some of it is labeled white day, most of it is not though. Other stuff is labeled for a whack as mole game, and there's some mole minigame sound effects and UI stuff. Cookie Witch NPC... with her own portrait with facial expressions and junk. So when are the Belvast island NPCs getting their damned portraits, Devcat?

- Pet card for that white celestial stallion or whatever.

- Athletic Event with lots of silly little drawings.

Alright so here's what I've noticed so far.

- We got a new quest menu, further sorting quests into things like Repeat (dailies and junk), Basic, Skill, etc. It also allows horizontal resizing so we don't have to use awkward scroll buttons if we have generation quests.



- The right-click menu of pets shows your hotkeys for pet functions on the buttons if you have any set. There's also a hotkey entry for searching personal shops, is that new?




- The UI themes were edited, flashing buttons have more contrast. There may be other changes, since the new UI skins are in a new folder.


- The minimap has a transparency slider (instead of changing on hover), a pin function, and right-clicking on it will drag it up to a certain distance.

Advice For Mission Points

- Daily

Power-Level! (Raise your level by 50.)
Remember that we get daily rebirths for now so you can possibly do this each day you get it. Various Taillteann shadow missions are quick to run for the experience, like Battle for Taillteann II, or may be safe options like Dorren's Request. There's also ancient hunting in Scathatch or Iria.

Dreaming of Weaving Mastery (Use the Weaving skill 30 times.)
Unless you have a sheep and various gathering upgrades, it's quickest to pick up 150 cobwebs from spiders in Tir's graveyard. Then go to the spinning wheel outside the Tir general store and try to make 30 thin thread balls. It needs attempts, not successes, so low a success rate will allow you to do it with less materials (as you can get a refund on failure but not on success).

Never Do Tomorrow What You Can Do Today (Clear today's mission once.)
I assume this means to complete one of the daily shadow missions. There's one for Tara and one for Taillteann each day, and they'll be listed first on the board.

Dreaming of Metallurgy Mastery (Use the Metallurgy skill 30 times.)
You only need attempts, so you can stand on the same spot and try over and over, even if you're not standing on sparkles.


- Weekly

A Solid Investment (Upgrade An Item 5 Times)
Grab a Dagger and get 25 proficiency on it. You can do 5 upgrades of 5 prof each costing 500 gold each at Edern. Anybody know something that needs less prof?

Well-Armed Wanderer (Upgrade a weapon 3 times.)
Either bugged, or needs special upgrade attempts.

Proficient Field Boss Hunter (Defeat 3 field bosses.)
Try for the Dugald/Dunbarton ones that involve multiple entities like the Black Raccoon Family if you're not OP. You can kill random monsters in the area until you get a Fomor Command Scroll, use it to see when the next field boss will spawn. They'll spawn anyways, the scroll just gives everybody a heads-up at the top of the screen. This might invite competition though. Black Leopards in Raspa count.
